Do you love playing the game Boggle? You have to have a sharp mind for words! Here's the place to discuss it!

Anne, I DO love boggle, have had it on my computer for some time now - and I was absolutely delighted to see that the online game Wordplay is (forgive me if I'm wrong) pretty much the same game as Boggle - same announcer, anyway! I'd recognize his voice anywhere! LOL.

Why did I Win ruin the online game by creating bogus characters. I can no longer play. Bye Boggle.
About a couple of weeks ago I guessed that, for some strange reason, there were far too players playing the master 5 by 5 grid. It was annoying to get the same person evry single game.
But they were real players.
2 days ago, the owners of the site obviously created a series of expert level players in the 2300 to 2400 level.
So now, I get a unlimited series of opponents (2300 and 2400), who always come up with an obscure 11 letter word, and a batch of mostly obscure shorter words. I always win by 10 or so, because these phony players NEVER create the obvious shorter words.

If they ever want to bring this back, the site owners should have fixed a major flaw. If somebody is rated 400 or more points higher than you and you lose, you don't lose any points. BUT, if you beat somebody that much higher than you, you do not win points. This happened to me several times and it is really annoying.
What made it worse is that you often got that opponent 3 or 4 times in a row. So the games meant nothing.
If folks have left your Boggle game, that is one of the reasons. Having phony computer-generated opponents with the EXACT same style of play is only making things worse..

So these computer-generated players are a new phenomenon? Interesting, because JQ2 tournament play recently underwent some kind of change that I suspect included computer-generated opponents. The level of play is such that they kinda, sorta keep up with you, but unless you walk away from the game, you'll end up winning just about every time. When the human element is taken out, there goes the fun.
