Ghost Town Mysteries Bodie is a spooky hidden object ghost story based in a real old west ghost town! Here's your spot to discuss.

Great game except the graphics could be sharper and not enough hints per level. The game stays true to the names of the real people that lived there and the scenes are exactly the same as in the real town. Evelyn's grave stone is exact! There is no mention of any "murder" of a little girl in Bodie's history, so that is just for the game. Check out www.bodie.com for more pictures and info.

PS... When my demo was over and I got out of the game, it did screw up my computer in a weird way. I had to restart my computer to make it run right.

I agree with you 'Kitty about the hints - not enough. I read the blurb about finding flies to get get more hint points but never found a fly. And it did screw up my computer, too. Got errors that my windows display info had been changed and that a program not compatible with my settings had changed it. Other than that though lol it was an interesting game. Graphics were a little fuzzy I agree so it made objects more difficult to find. It's a challenge for HOG buffs, that's for sure.

I also agree, not many hints to make this game extremely fun lol. I dont have any computer problems though so I cant comment on that.

It is an interesting game, but the screens are so dark, it is extremely difficult to find the objects....and I agree, there are not enough hints per screen. I did find the flies to get an extra hint, though. Since the screens were so dark, I had to use the hints and it takes a long time for the hint button to become active again. I just got tired of the game.

How in the heck did you ever find a fly??? My head is throbbing from just trying to find the four pistols. I finally resorted to just random clicking every where and it finally got it. It's a shame because it could be a really interesting game but the objects are just darn near impossible to find. And as for the flies........I even drug out my reading glasses and still didn't see one.

I agree with many of the comments here. But Overall the game is great. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Some of the parts, graphics in many spots in particular. The flies are outside each house - stock up on hints (2 max) before you go in. I agree the hints could come sooner when you run out - the waiting time shouldbe shortened, but it just made me look longer. That said, this had the best and spookiest final 2 levels of any game I have played hands down.

The whole thing ratchets up amazingly at the end - story fx, gameplay, and just plain fun. For the price, it was better than spooky dvd rental! And the sound rocks.

Do a google search for Bodie + Evelyn.

Little Evelyn is but one example. The story goes that Evelyn, a child of four, started following a kind hearted miner to work. Every morning the little girl waited outside her small home till she heard the miner's cheerful whistle. Then off she'd go, tagging along behind him. Sometimes Evelyn would stop and watch the man go about his chores, before heading back home.

One morning, the winds began fiercely whipping down the mountains. The darkened gray sky was heavy with the threat of an impending snowstorm. Undaunted, Evelyn followed closely on the miner's heels. Realizing snow was on its way, the miner stopped and told her to go back home. Smiling to himself, he watched as she turned and ran toward town.

But Evelyn was a headstrong child. She waited till he was occupied with his task, than sneaked back to where he worked. Silently, she crept closer to the man. Unaware of her, he swung his heavy pickaxe back. At that moment the pickaxe smashed into the little girl's head, killing her instantly.

The miner and the townspeople were so heartbroken at the unfortunate child's death that they erected a guardian angel tombstone for her. Evelyn must have appreciated their kindness because she has never really left Bodie. Her smiling little ghost has been seen in the cemetery where she is buried many times over the years.

I agree. This could have been a great game but the poor graphics spoiled it. I never saw any FLIES! Muddy, poorly drawn scenes ruined it for me. Would not even consider buying it after demo finished. To bad, it was a good concept.

Loved it, it was a challenge no doubt, but that was one of the things I loved about the game. I did use some hints, and had no problem finding the flies. Which are on the outside of the buildings, not inside.

I really liked this game, I found it interesting and innovative. But the hints aren't enough. I did find one fly by accident but i needed more hints to find the items. BUT, i never got past the 2nd house cause i coudn't find the 3rd ice pick on the gravestone- and of course, wasn't able to use any hints for this. That was frustrating. I hope i can find a walk-thru somewhere.

Hard game to play. Graphics are dark. How are you to find a black snake on a black wall? Hints to far apart. Looking for the stuff on the grave stones after you have put it together is hard. Can find 3 items, the forth one is difficult. Wish I would not have bought this game. Can I get my money back?

You can typically get a refund for a game that you are dissatisfied with and/or with which you are having issues within 48 hours of purchase. How long has it been since you purchased the game? If it is less than 48 hours, simply submit a ticket to the Customer Support Center, clicking on "Accounts/Billing" and explain why you wish to have a refund. iWin is very accommodating when it comes to refunds under these circumstances. If it has been more than 48 hours, you can still submit a ticket, but whether iWin will refund your money is debatable depending on the reasons you give for wanting a refund. Thanks - Goofy

I just found out that in 1897 a girl by the name Evelyn Myers died by accidently getting it in the head with a minors axe, aged three. She lived in Bodie and the gravestone on the game is an exact replica of this young girls gravestone. She is refered to as 'The Angel of Bodie'.

By the way, I cannot find the last pickaxe on the last gravestone!!

Hey..

Just drug out this game from the iwin dashboard between BAA and XMO:W. Have to tell you guys that I found the game had a weird calming effect on me. Maybe it's the music - which is tops, or the graphics - which could have been better or maybe its the overall aspect of an ancient murder. I am not much of an HOG fan, but this is one game am going back to... again and again again... aargh. Am loving the dark aspect of the game too.. do away with the fancy faery tale graphics I say!

I am having a problem with the game myself. I can't get past the key. I was able to play the demo, that is why I bought the game. I fell in love with it.

Am I the only person who can't play this game? It's strange, because I have all of the required stuff on my computer, and can play all of the other hidden object games, so what's the problem with theis particular game? Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Finally figured out how to get into the game. Fantastic graphics and story line. I am halfway through it and have not found any flies. All objects are very well hidden. Wish there were more games that are similar to this one.

I think somebody said something about the flies not being in the rooms, but outside the buildings. I never found any flies either. If you liked this game, however, you might try Midnight Mysteries - Edgar Allan Poe. It has a good story - somewhat historically correct I understand, good graphics, and mini games that are in line with the story rather than just jigsaw puzzles or anagrams like other HOG's. Enjoy!
