The iWin Weekly Contest this week is 'Room on a Budget'! Design a Hotel iWin room with 1000 Opals or less. The grand prize for the best 'budget' room will win 5000 Opals!

To enter, create a Hotel room only using 1000 Opals or less to decorate it. The room 'price' will include the walls, floors, or backgrounds, so choose carefully! Once you've finished creating your room, post a reply on the forums with your floor number!

Also, please note if you are using any items you bought on sale, since the sale price will be taken into account in the rooms 'total price'.
As an example if I was entering I would write:

Floor 12

Sale items:
Shovel
Siamese Cat
Moon Surface Landscape

This is just an example, I have not actually created this room.

We will be putting out new inexpensive items all week, as well as putting more items on sale to try and help out your creativity. This contest will end next Tuesday at 10am PST. So hurry and start working on those rooms!!

As for last weeks contest, writing your happiest Mother's Day memory, there were so many great entries this past week we have decided that everyone that entered was a winner!!
Some of your stories made my eyes water, and many of them brought a smile to my face. Each and every one of you deserves to win this contest!

So all of the following will people will be receiving 3000 Opals awarded to their accounts later today:

SAA1451
sophidia
grandmauta@ff
goofyduck1
laurie1184
Isaboe-Coo
dthieman
ponycarmom
patouv@ffmc
BABSEYMAZ
wattikins

The Opals will be awarded later today, so keep an eye on your Opals balance.

I'm even going to be awarding Hartoglass 3000 Opals for her going that extra mile for a friend, and being kind enough to post for BABSEYMAZ.

Thank you all for taking the time to share your wonderful memories with me.

All the winners of the 'Mother's Day Contest' have now been awarded their 3000 Opals!

Also, outfits will not count against the 1000 Opals limit for your room designs this week. So dress however you like!

My entry for the "Room on a Budget Contest" is my first floor. It is a simple scene of mowing the lawn. When added up all of the items used come to a total of only 215 opals for the entire scene clothing and excessories included. The scene it's self may be a very simple one, but I believe that it does show what you can do with only a few opals.

Is it okay if it is a room you have already created, or does the room have to be new for this contest only?

If you already have a room created that only has 1000 Opals worth of items (or less), you may submit it!
The room does not have to be a brand new room.

My room on a budget is my 9th floor. It was created under 1000 opals using less expensive items and only 2 sale items. I used plants to accent and the new curtains without an expensive window. It makes it look like I have a window without having one. I used the tea set and the dress on sale. I hope you like it.

Hi Woolson, welcome to the boards.

You need to use one of your existing rooms. (If they've both got other things in at the moment, you can put the bits you don't need in storage till after the contest.)

And you need to use your own opals for the contest. You won't be given any/paid back for what you spend, but you can keep all the objects you buy.

And of course if you win the contest, the 5000 opals will pay for your room many times over!

If you don't want to buy new stuff for the contest, you can use one of your rooms the way it already looks, as some of us have already done. Just post a note here with the floor number.

Good luck!

I would like to ente rmy 6th floor. since we have storage, I thought why not make a real storage room. i used many cheap items as well as items on sale. the baby stroller, baby gate & teaset all on sale. I also had some items already in real storage (Easter stuff)& used them as well. It resembles my own storage building, needs to be cleaned up. haha !! what i think is neat, should I choose to ,I can pull items from my "STORAGE". for use in another room if I need it. I can fill it with" SALE" Items.. We all have one!! If my calculations are correct,, TOTAL COST:: 1000 Opals
