Suggest Improvements to the Hotel's Functionality

This thread is dedicated to suggestions for embellishments and improvements to the mechanics of Hotel iWin which includes, the Message Wall, the Friend's List, the Hotel Stores, Storage, Lobby/Main Page & Elevator's functionalities. Is there something any one of these objects could be doing differently or could be improved upon with an enhancement? Here's a couple of example posts: "I would like the ability to sort my messages from the oldest to the newest on the Message Wall" or "I would like to be able to group my objects in storage". What is it you'd like the Hotel iWin complex to do differently?

Just remember that these suggestion threads are for sharing your ideas with other users; although iWin staff may from time to time peruse these threads, the only ways to officially notify iWin of your ideas is to file a ticket under the Support portal using the Request Type "Suggestion Box" or by clicking on the "Suggest an Item" box while in the Hotel shops.

I would like to see the option of pages (like in the forum & stores) added to the friends list. It would be much quicker to reach the friends on the last pages

I would also like Flip to be an option on everything even if it was only a mirror image & not a different view (as with some of the plants)

(Thanks for this thread, Dex)

I would like there to be greater flexibility in organizing and presenting items for purchase within the hotel. In particular, a category called "Sale" (like the existing "Food", "Wall Objects", etc) would be great for the week's sale items. I don't know if your data model can accommodate this, as ideally an item would need to belong to more than one category. For example, a chair that is on sale this week would belong to both "Chairs" and "Sale", and could be seen in either category. After the item is no longer on sale, the "Sale" category is no longer associated with the item.

Another suggestion that was made was a category for holiday items (another opportunity for items to belong to multiple categories, perhaps? A turkey is both "Food" and "Holiday" related).

I'd like to see an indication under each avatar in the friend's list as to whether they are online.

I would like to have extended functionality when moving objects backward and forward in the field. Rather than just being able to push an item all the way back or bring it all the way forward is limiting when designing; therefore, I want "One layer back" and "One layer forward" to be added to the flyout menu. This way you don't have to tear down a whole room to place an object between layers. Because this is a 2D application, this functionality is doable without a great deal of programming.

My suggestion isn't really for the hotel but this is the closest topic I could find...

I think it would be a good idea to show the size of the game/file on the game detail page... I think I've seen a "large file' warning on some games but I've noticed in a lot of game reviews, people comment about slow downloads and games getting hung during the download. While it may be an internal problem sometimes, more often than not, I bet it has to do with available space on their harddrives.

These days who's to say what's a "large" file and what's not. On one of my computers, I have 7G of space left and runs super slow when I download games (even with 7G left and maximized RAM) and on another I have a 900G external hard drive so games download without a problem. If you have a older PC... you may not have enough space to run the game. That's why I think it would be good to post the information so that the user can decide. I don't think it would discourage people from buying..a competitors website lists the size or and all the "requirements" on their site.

BTW, if you need to hire someone to add this information for you on all the games, I'm available. Call Me

I would like to be able to have more options in storage like being able to keep all like objects together and more catagories so I could find thing faster. I would also like more chairs & couches that are available in front & back.

Not sure if this is where it goes, Couldnt find any appropiate place for it actually. Read this statement carefully. See what's wrong w it? Hotel lobby Secretay's comment. "Get help for from our support portal or chat on the forums." Anyone see what I see?

I too, like a previous poster, would love to see more categories in storage so items are easier to find.

Also I would love to be able to personalize the order of my friends so I could place the ones I speak to the most up front and dont have to go through endless pages to get to them.

And I guess the thing I would love the most is, to have the ability to lock a room while we are working on it. At this point, while I am working on a room, there is usually someone out there already making an almost mirror image of it. Would be nice to have at least a short period of time that the room design could just belong to the person who did it, others can mirror later. lol

Thanks for taking our suggestions. Nice to know that someone is listening to us iwinaholics. We need our fixes you know. LOL

There are 4 things that really are annoying to me.
(1) The concierge guy that continually pops up while you are shopping and placing items in a room. When I am designing a room, I don't buy immediately, but try different things and do a lot of shuffling. That guy popping up every single time I make a move is maddening... especially if you are working in that corner. Is it possible for him to pop up just the 1st time while shopping or somehow give a command to keep him off? He's only needed for newbies.
(2) Why in the world have they made the items become 'larger' the farther in the background they are? The farther away, the smaller, right? There have been several times that I didn't use something because it was way out of proportion. Should I address this to Tech Support? I'm not sure where to inquire about this.
(3) I'm with everyone else on the mishmash in Storage. One type of item is scattered, willy-nilly throughout the category. You have to go page by page to find them all. It takes forever. Also, if I am toggling between storage and my rooms or store, I will have trouble getting storage to open up. The only thing that works is to shut done the game manager and come back in fresh... and even that doesn't always work. My new discovery is to try double-clicking on Storage. It's worked the couple times I've tried that. I don't know if it's just me or others have prob's with this. I'll try 4 or 5 times to get it to open up before I close down and start fresh.
(4) The same goes for this one. I don't know if others have this problem. When I'm shopping, I can initially select a category from the drop-down list, but it won't let me go back to any category listed before that one. I must forward through each category to get back to the one I want. In other words, if I select Furnishing, I can toggle back and forth within that category... beds, tables, chairs, etc. But if I want to go back to Decor and Hobby, I can't. I have to either keep forwarding through all the categories (round-robin), or get out and return to My Profile and come in again. Is this the way it is for everyone?

It would be VERY helpful if you could delete more than one message at a time off of the message wall. Something like holding down the shift key while selecting several connected messages?

It would also be helpful if, as SueKY said, you could scroll both ways while shopping. Can a "Previous store" button be added?

Also can you PLEASE do something to make navagation of the friends list less time consuming & frustrating... adding page numbers, as we see in the forums & the stores, would be a BIG improvement!

Please add a separate category for Holiday Items both in the store and especially in storage. These are items that are likely only touched once a year, and it's a pain to have to scroll through all of them in the Decor section whenever you're looking for something in storage.

Thanks!

I would like to see the Wheel of Opals reset at midnight (whatever time zone the server sits at). I never have any idea when I can spin, and keep getting the message "you've spun already". Can't it just be set to reset at a specific time, so you can spin once a day when you get to it? Seems like a simple request I think. Thanks!

I understand that iWin has a list of predetermined items to be released in a certain order & that, at best, we can hope our suggestions & requests are already on it or will be added to the end of it. But I have to wonder if it will ever be possible to give us a week where we get mixture of approximately 12 items (which seems to be the average) throughout the 5 most needed catagories (Clothing, Interior & Exterior, Decor & Hobby, Furniture and Pets & Pals) such as I put forth in the following examples.

One week we could have
new clothes (1 or 2 items for men & women), 2-4 max (ie 1 outfit male & 1 outfit female OR 1 top & bottom combo 1 for men & 1 for women)
a new background/foreground, wall/floor or horizon, 2 max (ie 1 floor & wall combo OR 1 landscape & horizon combo)
new Decor item(s) + a Hobby item(s), 2-4 max (ie 1 glass of milk & 1 plate of cookies + 1 jar of paintbrushes & 1 set of water colors)
1 or 2 new furniture/lighting items 1-2 max (ie 2 new furniture items OR 2 new lighting items OR 1 of each)
and 1 new Pet OR 2 new Pals 1-2 max (ie 1 new Pet OR 1 new Pal (1 male & 1 female)

Another week could be
new clothes (1 or 2 items for men & women), 2-4 max (ie 1 male costume & 1 female costume OR 1 pr shoes/boots for men & 1 pr for women)
a new background/foreground, wall/floor or horizon, 2 max (ie 1 new Background & 1 new Foreground)
new Decor item(s) + a Hobby item(s), 2-4 max (ie 1 window & 1 door + 2 new plants/flowers)
1 or 2 new furniture/lighting items 1-2 max (ie 2 new items from the "other" shop)
and 1 new Pet OR 2 new Pals 1-2 max (ie 2 new animals)

That would give us anywhere from as few as 8 or as many as 14 new items BUT we would have something from EVERY catagory

OR It could be broken down to a regular schedule of monthly releases (as example below indicates)

1st Friday of the month........................new clothing + a new background
2nd Friday of the month___________ new decor & hobby items + furniture
3rd Friday of the month........................new wall & floor + pets & pals
4th Friday of the month____________new outdoor + new selection for "other"
5th friday of the month (if any)............new odd item (like the gorilla hand, neon sign, sticker, trash can, traffic cone, trap-door) + furniture

That way there would hopefully be something for everyone instead of having people have to wait through weeks of kitchen items or bedroom items before something is released that is wanted & can be used. It is a simple solution , I think, to a frustrating problem.

I'd also like to add that the exception to this would be "holiday items" which (since they only give us holiday items 1 time) would interrupt the example of the monthly schedule above by inserting 1 week of the appropriate holiday items for the up coming holiday

I don't think I'm the only one out here thinking "ENOUGH already" or "there HAS to be a BETTER way"

Thank you for this thread, I wasn't sure were to go with my question. I was wondering if there was anyway that the wheel of opulecense coud be made to reset at midnight for each time zone. I can't often get on line at the same time every day and my time to spin gets set back later and later until I end up skipping a day just to spin at a resonable time.
Iv'e asked for this before, and the men got the scottish kilt, but I want a female version

I have two suggestions that I'd really like to see. First it would be really nice if we could rotate items in our rooms to face any direction we want them to instead of just flipping them. And, it would be nice if we had a shop for our own items we've made and want to upload to share with everyone.

I agree with Wolfinia. It would be fantastic if we could rotate items in all four directions instead of just flipping in two directions.

I had an idea I wanted to run by everyone. You know how in our profiles most people list their birthdate? I wish we had the option of spending our opals to buy object "gifts" for our friends on their birthdays. That would be so nice to do for someone who maybe doesn't have much or if you have so many opals and don't know what to do with them all yourself. Plus, it would be nice for iwin to give us bonus opals on our birthdays.

i dont know if this applies, but I missed the Pier One items, and I am so jealous, I see so many of them I would like to have, is there anyway that the items can become available again in the future sometime. Also, I would like to see more new objects to buy and more often. I am always waiting anxiously for the next new thing to see what I can make with it. we all love creating. I would like to see more backgrounds and landscapes. we seem to be low on those. Also more variables in items, such as candles, there is only one kind of candle...more trinkets so to speak to decorate with such as small statues, a larger variety of flowers to choose from would be great as well, and pots to use.

oh also, for whatever reason, I have noticed and have had other players tell me they are having the following problem. on my friends page, i can not page through them, the arrows are not highlighted any longer. If I add a new friend they will highlight again. Can this be fixed. it is not just on mine, it seems to be everyone.

If you are referring to the Hotel Message Wall, the answer is, "no". You can only delete one message at a time which is extremely time consuming but the only way.

It would be much easier to find items we are looking for if items that we have many of such as toys, plants, etc., had their own catagory. I believe we might have enough toys to have their own catagory. Thank you for considering this.

I think a nice improvement would be to move or remove the elevator room number. It is placed where it is a part of the room. It could be moved to the top on the left sideof the elevator button or simply removed. If you want to know what floor you are on you could just click the elevator button. This shot shows what I mean

What about if you were able to recolor an item that you buy? Like for example if the couch doesn't come in the color you want then you can recolor it and they could have one item each of that object which would cut down on the same objects in only a few color selections. I find the color selections rather limiting and so I make very few choices on some items. I am more or less talking about solid colors not prints but then again why not be given the choice to recolor a printed item as well too? Same with pets and people why not be able to choose the color for them or even their skin tones?

There is one or two Items that I would
like to see as a new item.

One a single Rose
Or a Vase of Roses.

I think Roses would look really nice in alot of the rooms,
especially the very nice rooms.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this item.

Thank you

I woujld like to see the Forum section have the ability for us to sort by topic or date, like emails allow us to. Example, in game forums we could sort the titles alphabeticly or by date. It would sure help our searches for helps with different games wout it taking 10 minutes to a half hour finding the game we are looking for. Just an idea. Thank you for considering this option.

All you have to do is type the name of the game spelled correctly into the search field, click on the magnifying glass, then click on FORUM and only links to the Forum are presented. (2) The opal amounts are llow that u win compared to the cost of items to purchase..

What if they were to take forum polls to find out what games people would be interesting this way a person can vote for their favorite game gendra or they iwin can find out exactly what people like? I think if you had polls perhaps that could cut down on so many threads. Maybe even have polls on items they would like to see that you can put in the hotel. Also about gift giving maybe the hotel could add in a gift wish list where people can see exactly what other people are wishing for to get if they were to add in a gift giving section to the hotel? I would also agree with SueKy350 on what she had mentioned and I once accidently clicked on something I didn't want to buy and now I am stuck with it. No I don't like the idea of selling it back for half price when it was purely an accident so I may have to use it one day.

I would like to be able to tell which of my friends are online. Something like what is in the forum. Any post in the forum tells you whether that person is online or offline. I have some more idea's to add for hotel improvements and may add on more later as I think of them. What about a better way to move around the objects as I have noticed that you can't seem to furniture as much. It would be nice if the controls could be much more flexable as I have found there are some limitations in the way you can put some furniture.

AMEN...AMEN....AMEN

Besides my previous suggestion of allowing objects to be moved backwards and forwards in increments rather than all the way to the background or all the way to the foreground, I'd like to suggest an editing mode and static mode like Party Resort on Facebook. How many times have you come into your rooms and accidentally clicked on something as the doors were opening or closing going to another floor and then having to go back and fix it? So I would like to see these two functionalities added to the design part of the Hotel: multilayer movement for objects and a toggling edit / static mode switch.

1) An undo button for those times when you accidentally click on one brick in a wall and have to rebuild it all to get it straight again.

2) A 'clear all' option to send every item in a room to storage, to save shifting them one by one when you want to completely redo a room.
