Guess I'm going to be the party pooper here, but the only way these objects, backgrounds, animals, etc. are going to get to iWin, is to keep adding them to the suggestion box while decorating our rooms. The forums were set up for us to share ideas, help each other with technical issues, game clues, yada, yada, yada. The forums themselves are not the iWin suggestion box. Yes, the forums are being monitored but not like it's being percieved. The monitoring is to make sure we stay on topic, squelch flaming threads, and scrub profanity. Read the topic iWin Staff of the Forum Rules. MB

If that were the case, why would Annie create a "suggestions corner" in the first place, though I have also been putting my suggestions in the box , I believe they also look through the forums for ideas.

Mmizzell,
Besides being an old curmudgeon and cynic, I have participated in forums for over a decade, AutoCAD, Microstation, Microsoft, Dell, Corel, Bravo...... Despite being advertised as help sites and consumer wish lists, forums were created mainly to ease the burden of public relations and customer service departments, allowing users and consumers a place to vent and commiserate reducing the volume of voice mails, emails, trouble tickets and snail mail. I'm not saying they are totally ignored but do not take the place of systems in place where users can seek help or offer suggestions, i.e., the suggestion box in our profiles in Hotel iWin. Forums also enable seasoned users to assist others in a more personal way by being in the trenches with them, curtailing technical help tickets bogging down an already burgeoning support system mailbox. The initial topics started in the forums were put there to get the ball rolling so to speak; offering us a direction to go rather than willynilly all over the place.

Companies do, however, glean information from forums but usually in general terms rather than specifics, for instance, gauging the reaction to a new software release, the demographic of individuals who actually take the time to post, or identifying what's working and what's not by the number of positive or negative responses. It would be grand if any company would have dedicated employees manning forums and interacting with users, but it just defeats the purpose of the forum which is to lighten the load for the needs of the business. Now I'm not saying iWin will never adopt an idea borne in the forums, but that idea must be cost effective or generate the revenue to recoup costs for production. In today's economy, it's all about the bottom line for any business, including iWin.

Hi, what's a hotel w/ no food? How about hamburger & fries on a plate, steak, potato, & veg on a plate, chicken, potato, & veg on a plate, bowl of oatmeal, bacon & eggs, waffles etc. The food items should come w/ a place setting. Coffee mugs, soda, martini glass, glass of milk, etc
Misc items: Wall mirrors, bathroom & kitchen sinks, toaster, camera

A lot of us have been designing kitchens, which leads to the need for sinks. Food items and dishes would be great, as well as any place setting items to dress up the dinning tables.
With everyone enjoying the outdoor themes lately, picnic supplies (basket, patio BBQ sets) would also be great additions.

Now that we all know that iWin not only monitors and reads the forums but also actively participates and responds to our suggestions, complaints and the issues which concern us, we should let them know how happy we are that they are doing so. Many questions have been answered, difficulities acknowledged, solutions suggested and satisfaction is found with the dedication and support that the iWin staff is providing to all of us, even the difficult ones. And what would these contests have been without the forums to enter the contest, ask questions, and announcing winners?

a cheaper plain white frig, with frig on bottom and freezer on top, to match stove, and a stove to match current frig! and different clothes for our hubby's! they all look the same, like everyone has the same hubby. mine does wear suits but when he gets home he puts old clothes on and works on fixing and restoring car's! i'd like a teepee, for me cause of my blood, but i'd also like like to make a shop for my hubby to work on cars! he would like that! dishes and food item's to set the dinningroom table. more ceiling lights, besides plain light bulb, and a ceiling fan light, old classic car pictures or posters for walls, mustangs, chevelles etc... more wildlife animals squirrels, birds etc... that can be purchased one at a time which we can flip to place on outside natrue backgrounds or gardens.

How about a greenhouse window for over the sink? When we get kitchen sinks that is? Or bay windows? Or picture windows? Silverware and dishes, although I think I already said that somewhere. People facing both directions since they can't flip. And windows that look into a room since peopole are being so creative with building "walls" in their outdoor garden or activities? Ooooh, how about some building blocks (kind of like the ice block), bricks, stones, cinder blocks, clapboards, stucco, etc. so people can build walls and anything else they can think of?

Simple suggestion: Scrap the whole current OPAL earning thing!!
No, I'm not crazy..... it's just so unfair, divisive and plain frustrating. Some people can rack up 700+ a day whereas others struggle to get 700 in a week...... and I know all about the various 'cunning' ways to glean opals...... but frankly, when you've played something like Wordscape or Luxor for a whole evening and then get congratulated for earning 15 opals it makes you want to give up!
I say enjoy the games and the messaging. That's fun in itself (especially Wordscape) and leave the room decorating stuff to those with the computers which can 'work' the IWIN system.
Simple test: play a game for two hours. If you've gathered in excess of 150 opals..... plan your next room. If it's under 100, either play your games for enjoyment only..... or close down your computer and get a good book from the bookshop!

OR.......... what about a few ELEPHANTS and the odd lion or tiger!!!!
That would spice up a garden or two!
And better clothes for the men........ the stuff we have at the moment looks like it came from a charity store!!!

Zombing, I can understand your frustrations, but please try to post in the correct thread & avoid multiple postings containing the same information.

Iwin is very aware of the problems that several members are facing & Anneiwin has now created a thread in the iWin site section called something like 'Post HERE if you are not earning opals'. Posting there, and submitting a ticket to tech support should eventually help.

(Some people have apparently already been credited with opals for uncredited opals/missing items since the update.)

Good luck & don't give up on all the fun of decorating rooms just yet.

Thank you so much, Dinismurf.
I could never argue with anyone who looks that good in a catsuit chasing hamsters about your room!!!
And you use your opals stunningly well.
Who needs sackfuls of them when all you really need in a catsuit, a chain saw and a terrified hamster.
Poetry in motion, Dinismurf!
Never mind the red costume and the hot tub on another floor......
Just looking in on your rooms makes me forget all my frustrations on OPALS and opens new horizons of dazzling possibilities!!!
Oh... and thanks for the advice.
I am... as ever... your servant.....

more people...people in uniform, nurse, cop, courier, ones that are bendable, people we can dress up...more walls, landscapes, etc..utensils, pans, pots, plates, cell phones, the expensive items should be more affordable....people, pets, appliances, backgrounds! The next sale should be of expensive items only...anything 2000 opals or more...a little more than 50% off would be nice

Glad you approve! It didn't take many opals, but a LOT of time squeezing into that PVC!

Don't worry though - no hamsters or bunnies are ever harmed in the making of my rooms.

Love, love, love the picture frames! Would like to request the exact same concept in a smaller size so that they fit in smaller spaces or groupings of photos can be done on a wall.

Also, a great release for Father's Day week would be that much-anticipated BBQ grill!

Please, Please, Could we have more indoor items? Especially carpets and floor mats, and curtains, and furniture.

It is getting difficult to make the rooms look unique with the same things over and over. Thank You.

I would like to be able to flip the furniture or other thing in all ways besides the two ways we have now. To have a couch or chair face the walls would be great. Make it left, right, front and back. Shouldn't be too hard. Hope you can get to that soon. Thanks

Because the hotel design package is a 2D application not 3D, what you're suggesting is programmatically "hard". That is why you see in the hotel store selection some larger items come with a Front and a Back. A 2D application can be supported by most user's computers whereas a 3D application requires much more processing power, memory and hard disk space.

I need artist supplies like a palette and paints and paintbrushes and a can full of brushes and maybe a half-finished painting to put on the easel. One empty easel is not enough. The iWin artists could do their versions of the following:

I'd especially like to have that jar of brushes to set on a table next to the easel.

Could you do this yourself by using a picture frame on the easel and importing your own work in progress? If it worked, it would be so much nicer than a generic painting.

I know we can extend rooms by adding mats/rugs, but I think it would be great if we could buy extra floor sections to match at least some of the styles of standard flooring, e.g. tiles, wood, a couple of colours of carpet.

This would give much more variety in the bigger rooms, and also allow some designs where bamboo matting or persian rugs don't really work, like a big office or school.

Before the summer is up, can we get a bar-b-que grill, room dividers, large hanging spider plants, a ceiling fan, couch that goes with the wicker chairs.
Large, medium, small wicker baskets.

Well what I'm requesting is quite different
You know when you go to your hotel room?
When your room loads with the loading green circle?
The little noise that goes: ?duh duh da da, duh duh da da?,? on and on?

Could we please have a different TUNE?

Good idea. But hmmmm what tunes? The possibilities are endless. Jingle bells during Christmas season? Or the Star Spangled Banner for the fourth of July? Or Auld Lang Syne for New Years? Or Here Comes the Easter Bunny? Or . . . well, you get the idea. That would be kind of fun. Don't know what kind of programming it would take to change the tune all the time, but it is definitely a thought to consider. Good suggestion!

However; I DO NOT have a specific tune.
I'm Suggesting something not as continuous.
Maybe something more relaxing.

My boyfriend sitting in the living room goes duh duh da da, duh duh da da (whatever it is)
And now it is getting on my nerves!! LOL

All of the other chimes are just fine for the other purposes
I AM JUST TALKING ABOUT THE ENTRY TO THE ROOM
and not the door opening sound or the opening of the iWin Games Manger etc....

NOT ANY OTHER SOUNDS/CHIMES

However; I do not think theres a need to keep changing for seasonal purposes;
as 2 some dont celebrate certain holidays (I DO though)
I just think that they should change it every once in a while.
Maybe every month, or even every couple of months.

i would suggest to iwin i.e. here, opals cost are really very high, plzz, do lesser to all of that. there, many people may join iwin & also enjoy.

& my suggestion, i want to see there...so many BATHROOM items [ i.e. shower, hand showe, a water bucket, bathing mug, mirror[ small price ], shampoo, soap Taps, Grizar etc.]

so may backlgrounds, landscape etc. more & more

vichles like [ CAR, cycle, scooty etc.] Kitchen items like [ fibre plates, many food items , rice items, curry, jelly ]
some pressure cooker, big pot, etc.

hope u will do so, & we will se it on our next item on the shop & increase plzz a NEW SHOP item [ i.e. named FOOD shop, VICHLES shop ]

that's all
