how do you get the letter out of the work shop

how do i get the seed rack. it wont do anything when i click on it

I know which gun to compare to the police report, but when I try to click on the right gun, nothing happens, and where can I find the gramophone crank?

If anyone missed it, there is a somewhat sketchy walkthrough included with the game. I haven't had to use it but if you're stuck it might be worth a look.

For the seed rack you need to collect seed packets before you can work with it. You can find them (or most of them, I forget) in that room. In general if you click on something interesting and nothing happens, it means you are missing something in your inventory.

I had a bit of trouble with the cat as well. Drag your mouse over the space below (as if to select it) to get the best hint I can manage. On a windows box you can also press CTRL-A to show the hidden text below.

You need to put the basket on the ground next to the mouth of the cave. Then put the catnip in the basket. Now tie the rope to the basket. This took several attempts when I did it. I think clicking right on the handle of the basket is what worked. I can't remember if I then had to click on the cat, or if the basket, once assembled, automatically dropped into the cave, but once I got the rope to attach it was straightforward. I think it's just a very picky click area, so keep trying.

EAFisher: The gramophone crank is one of the last things you find. I'll bet you've found it by now but if not, keep plugging away at other things. I forget how I matched up the gun, sorry. I don't remember having a problem with it.

I am seeing some minor glitches in the last chapters of the game. At least one puzzle can be completed but if you haven't done something else first it doesn't register that you did it correctly. So you sit there looking at a puzzle that looks right, but it doesn't move the storyline forward. If that happens, go do other things then come back. It didn't make any sense that the other thing needed to be done first but that's what I experienced. A few other puzzles seem persnickety and I found that just closing the pop up window and trying again immediately did the trick. I haven't found anything yet that stopped me cold.

I have found the orange crown and the green crown and they are on the lions - but I can't find the third crown, and I'm guessing it is blue since the lion has a wave on his crest. Does anyone know where I can find it? I'm kind of stuck!

The blue crown is in the housekeeper's cottage. You need to complete her tasks, which includes cutting flowers. Put the flowers in the flower vase. There is a painting of flowers next to the vase. You have to arrange the flowers to be a mirror image of those in the painting. Concealed under the painting is a note and a key. Use the key to open a cabinet. The blue crown is in there.

Thank you - I actually figured out the crown on my own - now I too am having trouble with the gun - I know the right gun, but it won't let me click on it or do anythng with it...frustrating!!

Help! I'm having the same problem with the gun - it won't let me "click" on the right gun - all I have is a magnifying glass. It's so frustrating!! Also I figuremaybe the dagger will show up if I ever get the gun to work!

You probably have more in your inventory than the magnifying glass. Look at the inventory items to see if anything else has to do with the gun. Then drag that item to the gun case. Or, just drag everything to the gun case one by one... I've been known to resort to that tactic when I have no idea what to do next. I never noticed a penalty for doing it in this game. If it's wrong, it just waggles and you might get a message saying "That didn't work" or "That needs to be used for something else."

The magnifying glass isn't in my inventory...when I click on the gun case the magnifying glass appears - you know to look closer - and it won't let me do anythng else...

Never mind - your advice about clicking around my inventory did the trick! Thank you!

I found the flowers in the garden but I can not deposit them into the vase...what am I doing wrong?

Carlejeune, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. You should have found the flowers after a puzzle, and the flowers are now in inventory, right? I tried dropping them onto the vase in the cottage and they dropped right in, although I've had some clickthrough issues elsewhere in the game. It just seems touchy at times.

Maybe you haven't completed another required task. Have you finished all of the housekeeper's tasks? Have you watered all 9 plants? They are in four different locations; one location has 3 plants to water. Have you cleaned the pool? It's not one of the housekeeper's tasks but you need to do it to complete the list of tasks... however I don't think you must do this before putting the flowers in the vase.

I'm giving you a few hints here but not telling you how to do every little thing. All I can say about your question is to keep trying to put the flowers on (into) the vase. I did have some problems with click areas, just not this one for me. Good luck!
