Have you played Artist Colony? Want to talk about how great a game it is? Need game tips? Here's where to discuss it!

It's somewhat like Virtual Villagers, but set in an artist colony rather than an island. Train painters, musicians, etc. while keeping the place in good repair and upgrading abilities.

I just played the trial. I think it's kinda boring, the characters have too much busy work to get done in order to accomplish anything.

I really like this game - it's great visually, especially the different seasons (which have an effect on gameplay) and there's less waiting around than in Virtual Villagers. There is a bit of strategy involved (e.g. do you try to expand as fast as possible or build up people's skills first to create more valuable masterpieces for sale?) and some things you learn as you go along (e.g. how all your hard work in certain areas will be ruined when autumn comes), but though that might frustrate some people, it made it just enough of a thinking game for me.

There are some cute touches too, like artists creating different work while heartbroken.

The only thing I didn't really like was the rather lame & predictable story - there hasn't been much incentive for me to find out more. But that's a minor gripe.

I tried out this game, wasn't sure. I tried out a few other games and came back to this one. Mostly because of uglygerbles comments in another post. Don't remember the post , but thought I would try it. I do love it. A little more action than VF and I had no problems with getting the opals. (I think since I don't keep track) going to recommend this game.

I loved the game, and I'm at the end, but stuck. Has anyone else played all the way through? I'm missing pieces of the statue, and can't find them. I found at least one fishing, one buried under a weed by the dance studio, and some others that I don't remember where I found them. I don't have a full 25 people in my colony...does that effect when the pieces will become available for finding?

I just unlocked the restore for the fountain and it has a ! flashing. I have several level 8 sculptors. Why can't I restore the fountain Ok. This several hrs later, but I found out that I couldn't restore it because it was winter and it was frozen. (duh)

I can't remember where the specific pieces of photo for the arch are, but you will find them all if you clear all of the rubble & things like fallen trees & lawnmowers around the colony. The photo pieces for all the restorations you need are under these.

I'm usually not crazy about these kind of games, but, I love this game and all the busy work involved. Its a really cute game, especially when Simone dances. lol

When Daniel comes along he does the same dance, but it looks strange with his dread locks bouncing.
It is a real hoot!

I bought this game and found it a little boring. It is cute, but there is no way to save your game and play it again under another name and try to get a better score, so there is nothing to strive for once you've completed it the first time

Help! I'm soooo stuck! i can't restore the mural because it tells me to meet the restoration conditions i have level 10 sculptors, it just doesn't seem to matter. i assume i messed up along the way and didn't fully clear some debris but i've tried having absolutely everything clear, anyone else have this problem? Maybe just start over?

OMG!!! This is so much better than Virtual Villagers, I can't believe it! I am TOTALLY addicted to it, and can't believe the time I've spent when I finally quit for the day. This is too awesome.

BTW, where can I go to do a review? Never mind, I found it.

Congrats on the quitting. I myself quit 7 years ago after having smoked almost 3 packs a day for 27 years.

Now that the game is available to All-Access, I re-downloaded it, and now I'm enjoying it. It's still a pain in the patootey to get all the maintenance work done, but at least I'm making headway in the restorations.

Can't you select "New Game" from the opening menu? It won't save your previous score, but you can keep track of that on paper or in Notepad.
