Game Designer

Job Description

iWin is seeking Game Designers to help the design and development of downloadable and online games. The Game Designer will work closely with other Game Designers and Producers throughout all stages of game development, coming up with original game ideas, writing design documents, and tuning game prototypes to prepare the most fun and successful games in the marketplace for release.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions Include:

• Managing the process of designing innovative, state-of-the-art games, sequels to proven franchises, and new intellectual property
• Write complete Game Design Documents outlining all aspects of the game including game mechanics, story creation, voiceovers, level design, and game flow.
• Review, evaluate, and provide input for game designs submitted from external game developers.
• Manage rapid prototype and proof of concept for new game ideas, whether on paper or electronically using such programs as Game Maker or Flash.
• Ensure that iWin products are designed and developed to meet product roadmap, expected high quality and performance standards.
• Maintain and keep current on industry knowledge of competitive games, successful genres, and popular ‘fun’ mechanics.
• Aware of consumer demographics and psychographics within Casual Game Market.
• Capable of communicating complex game designs to a wide and varied audience.
• Drive the planning and execution of all creative game design tasks across multiple platforms such as PC and Mac downloadable, flash-based web games, Nintendo DS, mobile, and console.
• Work with other functional managers within the management matrix to ensure timely delivery of games.

Qualifications:

• A high level of creativity with extensive knowledge of the Casual Game Industry.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in designing AAA games across multiple platforms.
• Sufficient technical knowledge to evaluate feasibility of design documents
• Ability to work effectively in both individual and team settings
• Superior attention to detail
• Must be a self-starter
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must possess high level of enthusiasm and be a strong team player.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Minimum 4-year college degree
• Great sense of humor a plus

Hours and Compensation:

• Full Time
• Compensation commensurate with experience
